Selection of Recipients for the Best Paper Award


The selection of nominees for the Best Paper Award, as stipulated in Article 32 of the commendation provisions, shall be carried out as follows:

1. The chair of the Best Paper Award committee (hereafter, "the Chair"), shall request the respective Society presidents to recommend papers as nominees for the Best Paper Award.

i)
The papers selected shall be outstanding papers published in the IEICE Transactions between October two years before the year of the award and September the year before the award.
ii)
Three papers shall be selected by each Society. This number may be changed where circumstances dictate.
iii) Of the above, the most outstanding paper shall be selected by each Society as a candidate for the Inose Award.
iv) Selection shall be completed by the beginning of March in the year of the award.

2. If a Society president selects more than three (3) papers, the Chair shall examine their appropriateness and decide which ones are to be admitted.

3. The Chair shall calls on the Best Paper Award Committee (member and voters) to vote to decide on the most successful paper to receive the Inose Award from amongst those selected by the Society president. In the event of a tie, the Chair

the Chair shall make the final decision.

4. Once the successful candidate papers have been decided by way of the procedure outlined in 3. and 2., the Chair shall produce a report listing the name of the papers, the author's name and the date of publication, and report to the President.
