I have assumed the charge in June 2011, and trying to mobilise more members into IEICE folder. IEICE section has been collaborating with local Universities and Research Institutes to get its root s into more members. Laos it hand together with IEEE in organizing few seminar activities. One such example was IEEE International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics MWP 2011 which was co-organized by IEEE and IEICE. It was an international conference and most of the researchers both in academia and industry participants would like to hear about Standardization activities of electro-optical modulator in the microwave photonics domain. Dr. Hiroyo Ogawa from Japan has been invited for this talk and many enjoyed and benefited by this talk. There were many delegates from all over the world, and it was a good platform to share his experiences with all the researchers. The due acknowledgement to IEICE w mentioned before his talk and also the IEICE logo is appeared in all the events including publicity materials, website and proceedings.

　 In the coming up year of 2012, Singapore section would like to invite two eminent researchers from Japan (one in microwave systems and another in communication technology) to share their experiences with Singapore researchers. This will make the feeling of IEICE’s presence in Singapore and motivate more budding engineers to come into IEICE and actively participate in later years. Also it is planned to make a IEICE membership drive to recruit new members and give a talk on the IEICE membership benefits.
