During the past year 2003, the IEICE Beijing Section has
successfully established the mailing list of all the IEICE
members in China including the members in Hong Kong and
the Japanese members who are living in China now. Based
on this mailing list, we've been keeping very close contact
with our members and trying to provide on-demand services
to them.

Also, in conjunction with Prof.
Susumu Yoshida's Distinguished Lecture, a New Year Party for
our local members were also organized on Jan.6, 2004, which
has definitely promoted the existence of IEICE in China.

As the most important activities of IEICE Beijing
Section, we've carefully designed the Distinguished Lectures by
choosing hot topics and inviting highly-reputed speakers. Finally,
the following 3 distinguished lectures were realized:

Due to the very hot topics and the distinguished
speakers, the 3 lectures have attracted more than 200 attendants
from all over the country.
To further promote IEICE in China, the IEICE Beijing
Section has also decided to technically sponsor the joint conference
of 10th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC2004) and
5th International Symposium on Multi-Dimensional Mobile Communications
(MDMC2004), which will be held in Beijing from August 29 to September
1, 2004. We all are expecting much more attendants from our IEICE
members.
