In 2003, we have already arranged two lecture meetings as
follows:
1. "Information and Network Security",
at Prathumwan Princess Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, during
July 31 to August 1, 2003.
2. "Mobile and Ubiquitous Internet", at
Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering,
Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, on February
26, 2004.

In 2004, we plan to arrange an Annual Meeting for IEICE in
which we will invite Keynote Speaker(s) and request financial
support from IEICE, on December 3, 2004.
We also plan to arrange the other one, two, or three lecture
meetings as follows:
1. Media Handover Technologies. We intend to invite
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hiroyuki Morikawa from the University of
Tokyo.
2. Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) Wireless Communications
Technologies. We intend to invite Prof. Dr. Kiyomichi Araki
from Tokyo Institute of Technology.
3. Future Trends in Telecommunication Technology. We
intend to invite Prof. Miyanaga from Hokkaido University.
For IEICE membership, we will increase the student and normal
memberships by about 20% and 10% of this year's memberships,
respectively.
In 2005, we plan to arrange a conference on "Thailand
International Knowledge Management Conference (TIKMC'05) in
March, 2005
Besides lecture meeting activities, in a medium-term aspect
(in the next 2-4 years), we would like to propose IEICE to
have Joint Seminar (may be as a regional seminar) among IEICE
Japan and Asean Area Representatives which is arranged by
rotating every participating area representative (as host)
at its own country. There should be invited speaker from famous
Professor or researcher in Japan university or research institute
and/or in a university in the host country. There should also
be some lectures or presentation from various member countries.
The participants should also include graduate students in
the host country who can also present their research works
by oral presentation or poster presentation. We think this
activity will strengthen the networking of IEICE Japan and
Oversea Representatives, and expand IEICE membership and activities
in the future.
