Kanie TOMOHIKO  It is a great pleasure to recommend Mr. Tomohiko Kanie. After graduating from the Graduate School of Materials Science at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 1995, Mr. Tomohiko engaged as a Lecturer at Sendai Polytechnic College, performed as an Associate Professor at Kinki Polytechnic College and subsequently worked as a Professor at the Nagano Prefecture Nanshin Institute of Technology. Currently, he is playing an active role as an engineer.

During this time, Mr. Kanie performed as a special committee secretary, journal editorial board member of The Society for Practical Technology Education, curriculum working group committee member, and chairman of the model teaching material development committee for a short-term course at Polytechnic University.

In reference to his contributions to technical education, he has conducted various technical seminars for innovative enterprise engineers in response to industry and regional needs while taking advantage of his advanced and practical technical capabilities as an engineer and has held many seminars from 2001 to the present. His main fields are high frequency circuits, optical fiber communication, regional digital broadcasting and cable television. As for the contents, he not only provided theoretical explanations of each specialized field but performed hands-on laboratory practical training using original teaching materials, offered explanations of construction technologies utilizing videos and photographs and conducted troubleshooting tasks.

The educational effects of these technical seminars are stated in various papers written by him and the noteworthy points have been highly evaluated by students. Also, these students are playing an active role at their companies at present by taking advantage of the skills that they acquired from these seminars.

He has provided training to many engineers by conducting technical seminars for corporate engineers, which is a remarkable achievement. I believe that it is highly suitable to present him with the Society's Educational Excellence Award, and I expect that he will achieve great success in the future. Due to the above reasons, I confidently recommend Mr. Tomohiko Kanie to your institution.
