Yuji Inoue

Year 2011 was the most serious year in Japan; Huge earthquake & tsunami, worst nuclear power plant accident, large amount of power shortage and nation-wide communications difficulty caused enormous difficulty and patience in people’s lives and social activities together with the huge flood in Thailand, both of which affected not only domestic activities but the global ones.

It is now very important for the Institute to learn from these disasters and to establish a ground design of the future resilient and ambitious networks and systems, by which IEICE needs more efforts to encourage and support new frontier activities such as “Inter-Industry Innovation.” I will try my best to bring the frontier principle as described especially by implementing concrete collaborations among Asian countries.
