2007
INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON
ANTENNAS AND PROPAGATION
August
20-24, 2007, Niigata, JAPAN

|
The 2007 International
Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (ISAP2007) will
be held at the Niigata Convention Center ''TOKI MESSE''
in Niigata, Japan, from August 20 (Monday) through
August 24 (Friday), 2007. This Symposium, the 12th
ISAP, is sponsored and organized by the Institute
of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers
(IEICE), and is held in cooperation with the International
Union of Radio Science (URSI), the Antennas and Propagation
Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE/AP-S), the Antennas and Propagation
Professional Network of the Institution of Engineering
and Technology (IET), and the Korea Electromagnetic
Engineering Society (KEES). |
OBJECTIVE
|
ISAP2007 is intended
to provide an international forum for the exchange

PREPARATION OF PAPERS
|
Original papers
are solicited that have not been presented previously
and that describe new contributions in the area suggested
in the SCOPE. Each author is requested to prepare
a 4-page camera-ready paper written in English, including
all texts, references, figures and photographs. The
authors are requested to refer to the ISAP2007 Web
page ( http://www.isap07.org/)
for the detailed paper preparation instructions and
the IEICE Copyright Transfer Form. The Proceedings
will be available on CD-ROM. |
SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
|
Authors are requested
to send their papers in Adobe Acrobat® *.PDF
format by electronic method. Detailed instructions
of the electronic Web-based paper submission is provided
on the ISAP2007 Web page ( http://www.isap07.org/).
The deadline for the electronic paper submission is
March 12, 2007. |
PRESENTATION
|
The working language
is English. Poster Sessions will also be scheduled. |
ISAP2007 PAPER AWARDS
|
Several outstanding
papers, which deserve special recognition through
its originality and usefulness, will be awarded. The
ISAP2007 Paper Awards will be presented to the author(s)
at the closing ceremony. |
ISAP2007 STUDENT PAPER
CONTEST
|
In order to foster
activities of students toward highly qualified researchers,
the ISAP2007 will host the Student Paper Contest.
Students are encouraged to submit their paper to the
contest and are requested to notify their will to
entry the contest by specifically applying for it
at the paper
submission. Only students can apply the Student
Paper Contest as a first author of the paper, although
co-authors may include a non-student researcher.
Depending on the total number of the applicants and
other factors, about 20 finalists could be selected
from the applicants. Each student selected as a finalist
will be requested to make a presentation in a special
poster session for Student Paper Contest in spite
of his/her wish at the paper
submission. Papers unfortunately not selected
as finalists may be assigned at the general oral or
poster sessions. The applicants will be notified of
the result of selection with the acceptance letter.
From the finalists, several winners would carefully
be selected after the poster presentation. Awards
will be presented to the contest winners at the Banquet,
on August 23; not only the winners but also the finalists
will be invited to the Banquet. Since the contest
is independent from the paper award, the contest winners
may receive the best paper award, too, if the papers
are qualified to deserve it.

ISAP2007 POSTER PRESENTATION
AWARDS
|
The Steering Committee
will select several outstanding poster presentations,
which deserve special recognition through their originality
and quality of presentation in the poster session.
The ISAP2007 Poster Presentation Awards with extra
prizes will be presented to the author(s) at the closing
ceremony. |
IEICE TRANSACTIONS SPECIAL
SECTION
|
The Special Section
on ISAP2007 is planned in June, 2008 issue of the
IEICE Transactions on Communications, which consists
of the papers presented at oral or poster sessions
in the Symposium. The deadline for submission is Oct.
15, 2007. The regular review will be conducted. The
detailed information is provided at the ISAP2007 Web
page ( http://www.isap07.org/).

are scheduled to be held in the afternoon, Aug 20,
2007 (Monday). You can get the latest information
on technologies relating to antennas and propagation. |
EXHIBITION
|
Companies are invited
to exhibit their hardware and software products, books
and services during the symposium. An exhibition space
with a panel, a desk and electricity will be provided
for an extra charge. Intent to exhibit should be indicated
by Dec 15, 2006. The application form can be downloaded
from the ISAP2007 Web page. |

and Guam. The trip from Narita International Airport
to Niigata via Tokyo takes 3 hours by Narita Express
(a shuttle train to Tokyo) and Joetsu Shinkansen (the
bullet train from Tokyo). The ISAP2007 will be held
at the
Niigata Convention Center ''TOKI MESSE'', which
is located on the waterfront of Niigata city. |
YOUNG SCIENTIST TRAVEL
GRANT
|
The ISAP will award
Young Scientist Travel Grants (YSTG) to a certain
number of qualified young speakers from outside of
Japan who need financial support to present their
papers. All applicants must be no older than 35 as
of August 20, 2007, the first day of ISAP2007. The
ISAP2007 Symposium Steering Committee will select
the winners and provide aid for travel and lodging
expenses, as well as the entire symposium registration
fee. The travel grant will depend on the distance
to be traveled to Japan and will be limited to about
100 thousand yen. The lodging grant will be about
50 thousand yen. The grants should be sufficient to
cover the costs of attending ISAP2007, provided the
winners are frugal. The YSTG application form can
be downloaded from the ISAP2007 Web site. YSTG Applicants
should include a signed YSTG application form after
the last page of your paper when you submit your paper
. The submission deadline for YSTG papers is March
