APSITT'97

　The formal title of the international conference is "1997 Asia Pacific Symposium on Information and Telecommunication Technologies ". This is held at the campus of Hanoi University of Technology , briefly HUT, near the lake " Ho Bay Mau " just in the center of the capital city Hanoi of Vietnam, on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of HUT in coming March.　The fundamental idea of this conference is that,in the promptly changing world of information and telecommunication services and technologies, we have to activate the exchange of opinions among different countries which are willing to co-work toward the prosperity of Asia Pacific region and provide opportunities of academic forum to promote discussions by the leading or interested people for their better mutual understanding and friendship. The first similar international conference "APSITT'93" was held at the Imperial Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, in November 1993, with the collaboration of the Engineering Institute of Thailand under His Majesty the King's Patronage, the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers of Japan, briefly IEICE, International Organization Asian Institute of Technology, briefly AIT, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, briefly IEEE. About 180 people from 10 countries gathered there and successfully exchanged opinions through paper presentation and discussions. The "APSITT'97" corresponds to the second occasion of the same idea. The world has experienced the drastic progress and development of computer communications over the past four years after the conference. Thus, the "APSITT'97" will be concentrated into the near future development of information and telecommunication technologies covering the computer communications. Leading people, faculty, forward -looking students, engineers, service / network planners and providers, and users are welcome to the conference.
