[IEICE-CS eNews<2014-28>] CFP: Special Section on Network Systems for Virtualized Environment (IEICE-EB) October 9, 2014. ----- Special Section on Network Systems for Virtualized Environment ----- The IEICE Transactions on Communications announces a forthcoming section on gNetwork Systems for Virtualized Environmenth to be published in November 2015. In recent years, virtualization technologies achieving higher utilization efficiency of physical computing resources are widely used. Network systems also play an important role to support such a virtualized environment. Typically, cloud computing environment based on virtual machines grows drastically. It means that data center network becomes more important element. Moreover, inter-cloud system receives much attention as a larger scale platform. In addition, network virtualization is a novel trend in network control/management area. SDN (Software Defined Network) is one of the most successful technologies. It achieves higher flexibility and efficiency. This special session is being planned (scheduled to appear in the November 2015 issue) to discuss network systems for virtualized environment. The submissions concerning new technique and discovery on various types of network system, network architecture and networking technology for virtualized environment are highly welcome. 1. Scope This special section is aimed at timely dissemination of research in these areas. Possible topics include, but are not limited to: - Network virtualization - SDN - NFV - Cloud computing - Inter-cloud networking - Data center - Large scale virtualization - Virtual wireless network - Robustness, fault tolerance - Virtualized environment management - Virtual network operation - Security 2. Submission Instructions The standard number of pages is 8. The page charges are considerably higher for extra pages. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the guideline in the "Information for Authors." The latest version is available at the web site, http://www.ieice.org/eng/shiori/mokuji_cs.html. The term for revising the manuscript after acknowledgement of conditional acceptance for this special section could be shorter than that for regular issues (60 days) because of the tight review schedule. This special section will accept papers only by electronic submission. Submit a manuscript and electronic source files (LaTeX/Word files, figures, authorsf photos and biographies) via the IEICE Web site https://review.ieice.org/regist/regist_baseinfo_e.aspx by March 27, 2015 (JST). Authors should choose the Network Systems for Virtualized Environment as a "Journal/Section" on the online screen. Do not choose [Regular EB].
