On behalf of the IEICE Communications Society and the APCC2001 Organizing Committee, it is our honor and pleasure to invite you to APCC2001, to be held September 17-20 in Tokyo, Japan.
Starting the 21st century, the innovation of Info-Communication Technologies (ICT) as well as deregulation is bringing us major changes. The explosive penetration of mobile communications and Internet is extensively exciting the every area of research and development on ICT. Customer demands for bandwidth and speed of access have skyrocketed. The progress of ICT is not only providing more bandwidth and speed, but also giving huge amount of business opportunities and social impacts.
The APCC provides a forum for greater regional interaction and dissemination of information on the latest development in the rapidly expanding field of communications.
APCC2001 is designed to generate fruitful discussions and information exchanges by offering the variety of conference program including attractive technical visits, based on the theme "Opening the 21st Century by Info-Communication Technologies." The technical sessions will address current issues in all of the emerging technology areas, but specially weighting on a mobile communication area where the 3rd Generation service is going to be launched quite soon. Adding to the technical sessions, the special panel on Asia-Pacific regional collaboration related to ICT will bring us the idea of create more dynamic international co-operation on R&D, education, and academic society activities.
APCC2001 is designed also to make a lot of interaction chance to know IEICE members by co-locating with the 2001 IEICE Communications Society Convention, to be held September 18-21 at the same venue; the University of Electro-Communications. Some of APCC2001 sessions are to be held jointly with the IEICE sessions. At the same time, you are all welcome to attend the any IEICE sessions you are interested in.
