It is with deepest regret that PS/COIN 2011 Organizing Committee has decided to cancel the International Conference on Photonics in Switching 2011(PS2011) and International Conference on Optical Internet 2011(COIN2011). We have made this difficult decision after a great deal of careful thought.

Japan has been hard hit by the earthquake and tsunami that struck the pacific coast of Tohoku (north-eastern) Japan on March 11, 2011. Considering that overseas participants will not feel comfortable coming into Japan with some countries issuing travel warning, and with many Japanese participants experiencing hardships with the fear of aftermath and power outrages, we have decided that cancellation is inevitable.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this decision, and we thank you most sincerely for your support and interest in PS/COIN2011.

We shall most certainly keep you informed of any future developments, and, of course should you have any questions or wish any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
