1. Pre-Registration and On-Site Registration

Those who intend to participate in the "2014 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility" (EMC'14/Tokyo), including the presenters (presenting authors), session chairs, committee members, etc., are required to register for the symposium.

Please note that all the presenters must pre-register for the symposium by paying the non-refundable registration fee by January 31, 2014 (see table in "4" below).

Pre-Registration is available on the EMC'14/Tokyo website from November 30, 2013 to April 20, 2014 12:00(Japan Standard Time), April 23, 2014: the entrance of the Pre-Registration System is at the bottom of this page.

Please note that "NO" registration will be accepted during the period from April 21 12:00(Japan Standard Time), April 23 to May 11, 2014. Registration will restart "on-site" during the symposium period.

On-Site Registration Desk will be open during the following hours:
   - May 12 (Mon): 16:00-19:30
   - May 13 (Tue): 9:00-17:00
   - May 14 (Wed): 9:00-17:00
   - May 15 (Thu): 9:00-17:00
   - May 16 (Fri): 9:00-16:30

2. Pre-Registration Procedure

There are seven main steps for the EMC'14/Tokyo Pre-Registration procedure:
   1) Create a "Registration Key" and go to the "Registration Form" in the Pre-Registration System. (see "7" below)
   2) Enter the registrant's information to the Registration Form.
   3) Enter the accompanying persons' information to the Registration Form (if any).
   4) Select the Registration Options in the Registration Form:
      - Registration Category ("Regular" or "Student")
      - Additional Presentation(s) at the Regular Sessions
      - Participation in the Welcome Reception
      - Participation in the Banquet & Award Ceremony (optional)
      - Participation in the Technical Tour (optional)
   5) Create a "Registration ID" and log in to the "Personal Account Page".
   6) Complete the payment in the Personal Account Page. (see "12" below)
   7) Wait for the Entrance Ticket to be delivered by post. (see "13" below)

After selecting the Registration Category and entering all the necessary information into the Pre-Registration System, each registrant will receive a "Registration ID" that corresponds to his/her "Personal Account Page".

3. Additional Applications

In the Personal Account Page, the registrants can make Additional Applications for "additional fee for multiple paper presentations at the Regular Sessions" (see "6" below), "Banquet Ticket(s)" (see "9" below), and "Technical Tour" (see "10" below), in case they did not apply for them when they first registered themselves through the Pre-Registration System. The registrants can make additional applications as many times as they like, until January 31, 2014 for the "additional fee for multiple paper presentations at the Regular Sessions", and until April 20 for the "Banquet Ticket(s)" and "Technical Tour".

4. Registration Fees

The registration fees differ depending on the application date and the Registration Category.

*All the registration fees must be paid in Japanese yen (JPY).
*All the presenters (presenting authors) must pre-register by January 31, 2014.

"Students" will be required to show their student ID when they arrive at the Registration Desk at the symposium venue. In case you are a student now and if you are graduating from school before the date of EMC'14/Tokyo (May 12 to 16), please bring a copy of your student ID to the Registration Desk. The student ID must be written either in English or Japanese.

5. Registrant's Kit

Each one of the EMC'14/Tokyo registrants ("Regular" or "Students") will receive a set of the Registrant's Kit, including a printed name tag, a printed copy of the Final Program and Abstract Book, a copy of the Symposium Proceedings (USB), a Symposium Bag, etc.

The Registrant's Kit will be provided for on-site registrants as well, but please note that the number of the Registrant's Kits is limited so that the kits will be distributed to the on-site registrants on a first-come-first-served basis.

6. Additional Fee for Multiple Paper Presentations at the Regular Sessions

The Registration Fee ("Regular" or "Student") covers the following:
   1) the presentation fee at the Regular Sessions (RS) (1 paper only)
   2) the presentation fee at the Organized Sessions (OS) and Workshops (WS) (more than 1 paper will be acceptable)
   3) a set of the Registrant's Kit with the Symposium Proceedings
   4) participation in the "Welcome Reception" on May 13, 2014

The presenters who wish to give multiple paper presentations at the Regular Sessions should register "1" time, but must pay an additional fee of 25,000 JPY per paper for the second and subsequent papers.

7. Registration Key

Those who wish to pre-register for EMC'14/Tokyo should create a "Registration Key" by entering an email address on the first page of the Pre-Registration System. A new key will be automatically issued and sent to the email address. The key will be used as part of the URL link to the Registration Form in the Pre-Registration System.
Free email addresses such as "gmail" can be used for this purpose as well.
If the automatic message from the Pre-Registration System does not reach the address, please check the followings:
   a) the message might have been moved to your "spam inbox"; (*The sender's address will be <emc14-registration@mail.emcjp-symposium.org>.)
   b) the message might have been stopped by some kind of settings such as spam filter or email block security system, which sometimes happens in "colleges", "universities", "major companies", etc., so please contact the system administrator of the facility you work at.

8. Accompanying Persons

Accompanying persons should be the registrant's family or relative, such as his/her spouse (husband or wife), sibling (brother or sister), child, etc., who will not attend the symposium sessions, but will participate in the symposium's official events like the "Welcome Reception" (free of charge) or the "Banquet" (7,000 Japanese yen per person; see "9" below) or the "Technical Tour" (see "10" below).

Please note that an accompanying person cannot attend the symposium sessions and will not be provided with a copy of the Symposium Proceedings.
Those who are interested in participating in the symposium sessions should register individually.
Each registrant can register up to 3 accompanying persons in the Pre-Registration System. In case there are more than 3, please enter their names and other information in the "Memo" box at the bottom of the Registration Form.

9. Banquet & Award Ceremony

The EMC'14/Tokyo "Banquet & Award Ceremony" will be held at "Josui Kaikan", which is located adjacent to the symposium venue, on the evening of Thursday, May 15, 2014.
Each one of the participants for this event is required to buy a Banquet Ticket, except children under the age of 12. The Banquet Tickets are available on the Pre-Registration System on a first-come-first-served basis.
The ticket price per person is as follows:
   - age 12 or over: 7,000 JPY (per person)
   - age under 12: free of charge

10. Technical Tours & Optional Tours

The EMC'14/Tokyo Technical Tour will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014, where the participants can take lectures about some EMC related functions of TOKYO SKYTREE, the world’s highest free-standing broadcasting tower, and enjoy a great view of Tokyo Metropolitan Area from the observation deck at the height of 450 meters. Each one of the participants for this event is required to buy a Technical Tour Ticket (5,000 JPY/person), which is available on the Pre-Registration System on a first-come-first-served basis.

11. Accommodations

Reservations for hotel accommodations are available through the EMC'14/Tokyo official travel agent, JTB Global Marketing & Travel Inc. (JTB GMT) (Click here for more details.)

12. Payment Method

For Pre-Registration, the payment should be done using the on-line Credit Card Settlement System, which will be available in the "Personal Account Page".
If you have difficulty in paying by credit card, you can select another way, "Bank Transfer", by clicking the button in the Pre-Registration System. Payment by bank transfer must be completed within 10 days from the registration date. If we find the payment not completed by then, the registration will become invalid.

For On-Site Registration, the payment should be done in cash (JPY only), or by credit card.
*Acceptable Card Types:
   - Pre-Registration: VISA, MASTER, Amex, Diners, JCB
   - On-site Registration: VISA, MASTER, Amex, Diners (JCB is not acceptable)
*Please refer to the confirmation email from the Credit Card Settlement Company with the message title of "EMC'14/Tokyo: Credit Card Settlement Confirmation" for the letters to be written on the bill from your credit card company.
You will receive the confirmation message after you complete the payment by credit card, and you should be able to find the following statements;
 The transaction description on your credit card statement will be "∗∗∗∗∗∗∗".
   (The "∗∗∗∗∗∗∗" part will be written on the bill.)

13. Entrance Tickets

After you have completed your pre-registration (for "Regular" or "Student") with all the payments done, the EMC'14/Tokyo Secretariat will send you the "Entrance Ticket" by post to be delivered to you by May 9, 2014. If it does not reach you by the time you leave for the symposium site ("Hitotsubashi Hall (National Center of Sciences)", Chiyoda, Tokyo, JAPAN), you should print out the confirmation message from the Pre-Registration System, and bring it to the "Information Desk" on your arrival at the symposium site.

14. Cancellation

In the event of cancellation of Pre-registration, a written notice must be sent to the EMC'14 Secretariat to be received by April 20, 2014.
In case the registrant is a "presenter" at RS/OS sessions, however, no cancellation will be accepted after January 31, 2014. Instead, the URL link and password to download the Symposium Proceedings will be sent to the absentees after the symposium.

16. Privacy Policy

What you enter in the Pre-Registration System will be used for the purpose of correspondence for the EMC'14/Tokyo registration.
Also, the "EMC'14 Registrants List" with their names, affiliations,and countries is to be distributed to the EMC'14/Tokyo participants at the symposium venue, and to the sponsoring organizations after the symposium.
If you do not agree to have your personal information included in the list, please send a message to the EMC'14/Tokyo Secretariat after you complete your pre-registration.
